MISS LANGO! USE Your Beauty to Address issues of Wetland and Environmental misuse
LIRA CITY, UGANDA; Linda Acio Abong, a student of Ndejje Unversity was crowned a winner in Miss Lango Beauty Contest.
The competition that attracted 11 competitors from Lango hailing from different clans took place at Pacific Grand Hotel in Lira City.
Linda Acio Abong a clan member of Bako Olang Clan was announced by management of Miss Lango Foundation under the directorship of Among Shakira, the pioneer Miss Lango.
During the competition, a woman with hearing loss, Peace Amaro was also crowned a 1st runner-up representing Miss Ability Lango.
Patrick Okwir, one of the Judges and also Lira City Speaker praised competitors for showcasing their talents during the competition.
Okwir praised Queen Amaro for her exceptional performance despites her disability status.
Lira City woman mp, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng also Health Minister donated 1Million Ugx to the organizers.
While delivering her support through her representatives, Imat Emma Okite, she urged the competitors to embrace fight against wetland misuse.
She also as well promised to give each contestant tree seedlings.
Relatedly, Dr. Engineer Moses Micheal Odongo Okune, Wonyaci ‘’ Elect’’ Tekwaro Lango urged the contestants to use their beauty to address the issue of wetland encroachment and environment degradation.
