Dokolo Ug: There is panic already in Opposition Camp as Dokolo South MP's daughter in law, Irene Amongi Ajwika has maintained her stand to contest in Dokolo WMP By-election 2024 as an independent candidate.

On Saturday February 17, 2024, the youthful NRM lady declined to embrace the proposal to withdraw from the race in support of the NRM candidate.

During a close door meeting, the outspoken politician who is seemed to be inspired and motivated by Okot's courage told top NRM leaders that she she will not withdraw from the race beacuse her candidature represents the views of Dokolo community.

As NRM, we need to reclaim our lost victory in this by-election but if we leave this to the current party candidate, people of Dokolo will remain in pain and suffering in the hand of the opposition.

" I am not standing because I don't abide by the party constitution, I am standing to represent my people , I am capable of delivering services and development to our people ." She told media.

Mrs. Ajwika, however, attributed the previous NRM lost to presentation  of weak  candidate.

Report  obtained by publication revealed that already FDC, UPC and NUP are panicking over Mrs. Ajwika decision's to remain in the race.

Opposition feared that,  Irene Ajwika being a wife to a radio Manager and a relative to an experienced politician, Hon. Felix Okot Ogong, it will not be easy to challenge her in the race compared to other candidates.

While Meeting NRM leaders in Dokolo, Emmanuel Dombo warned NRM supporters against voting for an opposition candidate.
