Abok LC3, Philip Ogile Expected to Appear In Court over Attack On Amb. Ogwang Okul's Vechile Case
Lira, Uganda – Philip Ogile Jakayo, the Abok sub county Local Council Three Chairman is expected to appear in court Thirsday.
This follows his arrest on Thursday morning by the police in Lira City over allegations of attacking Ambassador Dickson Ogwang Okul's vehicle and injuring his official driver on 1st November this year.
The incident happened at Senior Quarters in Lira City East division, when Ogile and others still at large allegedly ambushed and attacked the vehicle Reg. No. UBD 315D, resulting into damage to the vehicle and injuries to his driver and local guard that were traveling in at the time.
Jakayo, identified as a leading social media activist who allegedly orchestrated a hate campaign against Ambassador Okul while promoting Eng. Michael Odongo Okune, is a key suspect in the attack.

While Jakayo has been apprehended, police in Lira are reportedly continuing their investigation to apprehend other individuals involved in both the November 1st and November 17th attacks on Ambassador Okul.
The November 17th incident also involved assault and is under active investigation. Lira Police have committed to ensuring that Ambassador Okul receives justice for the damage to his property and the assaults he suffered.
Efforts to get comments from North Kyoga Regional Police Spokesman, Jimmy Patrick Okema were futile as calls were not being recieved on his known telephone contacts by press time.
During the recent press briefing, Okema comfirmed that they were investigating circumstances around Okul’s attacks on 17th November at Lango cultural centre in Lira City.
