ARDC KALAKI Denis Richard Apuun Promised Hell to Corrupt Officials as He Commissions Irrigation system

KALAKAI, UGANDA: Assistant RDC Denis Richard Apuun Kalaki District has on Thursday , 15th August , 2024 commissioned a powerful Microscale irrigation system at Katine Village, Ocelakur parish in Ocelakur Sub-county. 

Beleiving and trusting in the power of cohesion and teamwork, the Office of the DISO, the Principle Assistant Secretary, the District vice Chairperson, the District NRM Chairperson, the Coordinator OWC, District stakeholders and the entire Sub-county political and administrative leadership of Ocelakur highly appreciate the GOU under the wise and visionary leadership of the father of the Nation who is non other than His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni upon his relentless bid towards improving the agricultural sector in the District and Uganda at large.

The development which is being implemented by Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and fisheries (MAAIF), Kalaki District Local Government is. under Uganda Intergovernmental Fiscal Transfers (UgIFT) with support from World Bank. 

More than twelve (12) beneficiaries were chosen to benefit as FFS- Farmer Field School. Mr Alex Otim an outstanding commercial progressive farmer also equally benefited.

In remarks, the hardworking Commissioner praised NRM Government upon this initiative which he said will boost local economy. 

"As away of increasing agricultural productivity, GOU has committed to invest in the development of major irrigation schemes in the Country, ensure continued investment in technology improvement through research for improved seed, breeds and stocking materiald: invest in the development of the phosphates industry to reduce the cost of fertilisers. "

He further assured the communit of presidential initative to transform Uganda to middle income economy for the betterment of its citizens.

He emphasised that once such big initiatives are in place, the youth definitely get employed, they earn salary, they are able to pay taxes and at the end Ministries, Departments and Agencies can no longer struggle to have their budgets funded.

 He implored the gatherin to embrace the NRM principles of Patriotism, Pan-Africanism, Socio-economic transformation and Democracy. " He adviced the youth to Love their Country and guard it Jealously from traitors who keep trading Uganda's name with hate and falsehoods from abroad for their own gain"

Forthermore, he called upon leaders of Kalakai to embrace team work and unity in a bide deliver quality services to the community.

 " You all remember that Kalaki District is being admired as the little brain Child of other Districts in Teso region so it requires keen attention, and the best care the new born baby requires. This is a serious boost to our farmers in the District on top of other wealth creation intended initiatives that are not limited to PDM, GROW-MGLSD, EMYOOGA, UWEP, PWDs grant, YLP etc. 

APUUN, issued a tough warning to corrupt officials. He promised to fight them untill they leave corruption.

"I still repeat that, enough is enough, we shall not tolerate any act of corruption in our district, we Kalakai to shine in all sectors ".
