Minister Aceng Commends Mothers for prioritizing Health , Urges Men to Follow the Path

Lira, Uganda: Minister of Health, Dr. Jane Ruth_Aceng has appreciated women for prioritising their health, urging men to follow the same path.

Dr Jane Aceng, the current woman member of parliament Lira City made these remarks on friday August 9th,2024 during the closing ceremony of the 5 days women medical camp held in Lira City .

Over 3000 women from various parts of Acholi, Lango, Karamoja and Teso sub regions benefited from the medical camp through free cervical cancer screening, family planning services, nutritional screening among others. 

MP Aceng further urged community of Lango to eat balanced diet and do excise in a bide to improve on their Health and stay longer.

The Principal Hospital Administrator Lira Referral Hospital Peter Okello thanked Lango community for embracing the medical camp.

He equally appreciated Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Health and team of specialist health practitioners for dedicating their times to support the community.

In his remarks, Dr. Prof. Justus Baragaine Kafunjo, the President of the Uganda Gynaecology Association, praised Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero for being a good leader.

Kafunjo advocates for the prioritisation of women's Health in Uganda.

He urged female Members of Parliament to prioritise women’s health in their respective regions.
