Kwania: How Gov't Census Tab Was "Wuked"

Kwania, Uganda: Owuwuk is a luo slang for robbers and this new terminology is quite synonymous with Lira city where the act was rampant months ago.
On a lighter note,those with enthusiasm for the English language would joke quite often that just like the word Boda Boda,Owuwuk would soon find its way to the English dictionary and thus if you have been robbed,you say I have been "Wuked".
So as you tap on this website,the territorial police in Kwania strict have launched investigations on how a government tablet deployed for the census exercise was "Wuked" albeit stolen.
According to SP Jimmy Patrick Okema,the police mouthpiece for North Kyoga region,the tablet was robbed from Bung Cell, Teduka ward Aduku town council in Kwania district.
The machine was reportedly in possession of an enumerator named Robinah Ewao aged 26yrs old and a resident of Olami "B" village, Ikwera parish, Aduku town Council.
Its alleged that on 20th May 2024 at around 0930hours while in Bung-Teduka,Teduka ward, two men riding unidentified boda motorcycle stopped Robina who was also on another motorcycle heading to Ogobi village to assist her friend to Enumerate people and robbed the tablet.
The duo are said to have asked her if she has seen their money which they had lost, before she could reply them, the suspected goons grabbed the bag which had the tablet and an infinix phone with cash worth UGx 4000.
They duo who appeared drunk sped off in haste and disappeared.
According to SP Okema,a case of simple robbery has been registered at Kwania central police station and inquiries have already commenced to bring to book the accused persons and recover the said stolen items.
"Our intelligence are on ground, we appeal to members of the public to help police in apprehending this thugs or share any information that can support investigation" Okema said.
