Otuke:Ray of hope as ARDC Opio Opeo Wields an Axe on "Corrupt" PDM officials

The Assistant Resident District Commissioner of Otuke Isaac Opio Opeo has proven that he is a promise keeper and a proactive leader willing to walk the talk on graft that has dogged the Parish Development Model program.
Weeks ago,the community of Abongorwot in Orum sub- county petitioned the office of Mr.Opio and reported that some unscrupulous leaders in their savings and credit Associations had fleeced on their PDM funds that saw many especially women received below a million shillings as a result of this extrortion.
Without hesitation, the no-nonsese ARDC Opio swung to action and called for a community Baraza where locals skinned bare some of the culprits suspected to be having a hand in glove in this loot and without mincing words,Opio authoritatively opined that arrests would be effected.

Among the suspects who on Tuesday 15th October 2024 appeared before Otuke grade one magistrates court and were remanded are Akello Lucy ,the parish Chief of Abongorwot,Angelo Opio Angilo,the chairperson for Parish Developments Model SACCO,Awio Daniel Awio, PDM Secretary,Sylvia Akello incharge of finance and Josephine Auma, a member
They were slapped with charges of obtaining money by false pretenses and conspiracy to defraud, offenses which carry prison sentences of up to three and five years, respectively, along with other related charges:
These arrests were made after numerous complaints were brought to the Office of the RDC Otuke, alleging extortion in accessing PDM funds meant for the Parish Development Model (PDM) program in Abongorwot, Orum Sub-county, Otuke District. In response, the RDC Office, in collaboration with the DISO and CID Division Otuke CPS, conducted a community baraza on 2nd October 2024 to address these issues which resulted in the arrest of the accused persons.
"The RDC office, together with law enforcement, remains committed to ensuring that those involved in PDM extortion are dealt with and we will not relent on the fight against graft because the president instructed as to be tough on corruption" Opio told this publication.
This development has been met with joy and happiness from the community in Otuke who has praised commissioner Opio Opeo for his commitment in ensuring that effective Service delivery reaches the community.

Ever since opio was transferred from Amuru to Otuke district,the community is more happy and he is touted as a supper mobilizer ,down to earth, and commited on service delivery in the heath sector as a former hospital administrator, Awitong ( clan leader),a teacher, a patriot and a nationalist.
"Otuke district is the residence of president Museveni and the president loves you ,that is why when he appointed me Assistant Resident District Commisioner Amuru,i only served for two months and I was immediately enrolled for a leadership course at the National Leadership Training Institute Kyankwanyi and he transferred me to Otuke to tackle among others issues of wet land encroachment and environmental degradation as well as shear nut trees conservation which is intandem with Executive Order No.3 of 2023 issued by president Museveni" ARDC Opio recently told this publication.
