Obongi District: RDC Wants traffic Officer Investigated

RDC Obongi Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka has directed the OC CID Obongi detective ASP Adriko Ronald to investigate the alleged assault of one Hassan Ombere a butcher man in Moyo Ddstrict who was going to buy a cow from Obongi district.
The victim who was admitted at Obongi health centre 4 after allegedly being beaten by traffic police at a check point at Maduga Foligo in Gimara sub-county.
The victim alleged that the traffic police stole 1.7 million shillings from his pocket.
The relatives of Hassan Ombere reported the matter to the RDC's office after alleging that police had refused to open the case.
A case was later opened at Obongi CPS under SD Ref.22/17/04/2024.
The RDC Obongi Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka and the DISO Denis Elyebu visited Hassan Ombere at Obongi health centre 4 today where he is admitted.
Ombere accused the senior officer before RDC and DISO that when he first passed at the traffic check point they asked him to pay 5,000/= but he paid 2,000/= which angered the traffic police
He showed the RDC and the DISO the shirt which he was wearing which is full of blood.
One of the residents who requested not to be named in this publication said police IGP should deal with the accused traffic police officer so that justice is prevailed.
An attempt to speak to the police spokesman at the time of publishing this article was unsuccessful.
