Youth MP Okot Speaks out on YLP Revolving Funds

Kole, Uganda: NRM vibrant Northern Youth MP, and Kole South MP hopeful hon. Okot Boniface has implored the government of Uganda to revise YLP funds 

 MP Okot an advocate for youth affairs called upon government to investigate the unplanned collapse of YLP and reviving of the program by the government of Uganda so that the current youth groups under YLP are maintained.

On Saturday at Parliament,Okot said that YLP is a revolving fund therefore the unplanned collapse of the program will lead to the death of many youth groups who benefitted from the program he ce it should be maintained.

His submission was welcomed by many youth and voters in Kole district who were watching him live on TV for advocating for them to be employed (jobs creation).

The Kole South MP Hopeful Okot also on Friday urged government to support the ICT sector in order to creat jobs for youth.

The vibrant MP is now making headlines in both social media and several TV stations in the country on the issue of mineral tax among others.

That government develop a comphriensive phase out strategy and that Youth livelihood programs must be retained and recapitalised.

Okot wondered what happened to the recovered and uncovered funds under YLP program.

Okot during the plenary on Friday and Saturday made an appeal for transparency in the management of minerals of the country to provide enough revenue to meet the needs of Uganda through the national budget.He also advocated for an energy mix that is not overly dependent at erratic rains but one that can withstand the effects of climate change too.
