The old adage says the strenth and greatness of a leader can surely be measured within a hundred days once he is elected into an office,and  Engineer Dr.Michael Moses Odongo Okune has excellently beaten this record.

Besides holding several meetings with vast stake holders in the land of all walks and spheres of life such as religious leaders,the youth and women,the paramount chief elect is also very enthusiastic about restoring the lost glory of Lango culture

This publication can authoritatovely reveal that the Wonyaci Oyero Anyen of Lango ( Paramount Chief elect , Eng. Dr. Michael Moses Odongo Okune, has also  met with the Miss Lango team, including Miss Lango 2023/24 Queen Akot Gillian Tracy and Miss Lango 2022/24 , Queen Deborah Okucu.

This meeting was held at the residence of the Wonyaci elect in Senior Quarters in Lira City.

The Luo Natives is now privy to some of the  objectives that were  discussed and reached at for  the purpose of empowering and promoting the culture of Lango among our daughters and they include-;

➡️ To strengthen Lango culture, emphasizing our values and traditions to inspire our daughters to uphold and honor our heritage.

➡️ To create awareness among daughters about the customs and traditions of the Lango people, fostering unity and understanding within the community.

➡️ To work towards enhancing the skills of our daughters, empowering them to represent Lango culture with pride and excellence.

➡️ To diligently revive and maintain traditional practices that have been forgotten, thereby preserving the rich heritage of the Lango people.

➡️ To engage in activities that promote the welfare of women, addressing issues that hinder their progress and ensuring they play active roles in community leadership.

➡️ To foster a supportive environment where women are encouraged to pursue their dreams and aspirations, contributing to the development of Lango society.

➡️ To promote the Miss Lango Beauty Pageant as a platform for cultural exchange and education, highlighting the significance of respecting and celebrating our traditions.

➡️ To encourage daughters to participate in various educational and cultural activities, providing them with the necessary support to achieve their goals and aspirations.

It should also be noted that Shakila Mwinyi Among, the current deputy speaker of Lira City also a former miss Lango winner has been at the helm and apex of this platform in a bid to promote local tourism and Lango culture.
