Born Again: Archbishop Odongo Urges Leaders to Moblise for the Upcoming Population Census 2024

Kampala, Uganda: The leadership of national fellowship of born again pentacostal churches of Uganda has appealed to all their Christians to participate and embrace national population census excise 2024. 

In a pastoral letter addresed to the regional overseers, Rt. Rev Dr. Moses Odongo the archbishop of National Fellowship of Born Again pentacostal churches of Uganda urged them to take part in the initiative and moblise their folks to embrace the program.

In his message, Rt Rev Dr. Odongo assured christians that the program in fulfillment of the God's Mission citing an example in the Bible. " A National Census is a very important matter in any nation. It is mentioned in the Bible (Luke 2)

where Joseph and Mary who were expecting a baby, travelled to be counted and a miracle found

them there." 

The man of God also well applauded Government of Uganda for the collaboration with the members of born again churches and recognising the presence of born again christians in the country.

The National Fellowship Of Born Again Pentecostal Churches Is An Umbrella Network Of Pentecostal Churches, Para-Church Organizations And Missionary Organizations Operating In Uganda. It Is Registered With The Government Of Uganda, Is Non-Denominational And Politically Non-Partisan. The Fellowship Exists Primarily As A Voice For Its Membership And To Support And Nurture The Effective Growth And Development Of The Pentecostal Movement Through Networking, Capacity Building And Enabling Strategic Partnerships.

In the census form, members of born again pentacostal churches are allocated number 15 in the form. 

Uganda is set to conduct the National Population and housing Census 2024 with the reference night being 9th May 2024. The Census will be done in 10 days starting on 9th May 2024 to 19th May 2024.

The President of Uganda, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, launched the NPHC 2024 activity on December 12th2023. After every 10 years, Uganda holds a national census and the last one was carried out in 2014.
