Alebtong! MP OBUA Lobbies 300M Ugx For Upgrade of Health Facilities

ALEBTONG, UGANDA; The Government of Uganda will give sh300m towards procurement of medical equipment for the two upgraded health facilities in Alebtong district.
The government chief whip, Denis Hamson Obua who is also Ajuri county Member of Parliament, identified the health units as Angetta and Awei upgraded from health centre two to three.
Closing a week medical camp at Amugo health centre days ago Obua says, the idea is to improve health service delivery among the population in the district.
He added that government is working on the modalities to upgrade Amugo health centre three to health centre four status in order to offer better service to people.
“It has been endorsed and agreed that the health Centre be upgraded, equipped, provided ambulance and deployed enough health workers to handle cases which cannot be handled in the lower health facilities,” he says.
The camp was organized by Obua in partnership with the Uganda People Defence Force directorate of medical services. A total of 3,928 patients benefitted from the free treatment in the camp closed on Saturday.
The deputy director of medical services of the Uganda people`s defence forces, Brig Dr Patrick Ocen lauded the team for exhibiting good discipline and dedication in treating the people of Alebtong district.
“You exhibited good discipline which worth identified UPDF because UPDF is a disciplined force, the people’s army and I thank you for coming and blending with the people of Alebtong,” Ocen says.
“I want to thank you for your dedication. You worked under hectic conditions from 900am to 900pm every day and sometime without food and that is the resilience that you went through that is why you got trained to persevered all situations,” he added.
He urged them to continue to associate with the communities and exhibiting professionalism in whatever they do.
Ocen also called upon the district leaders to enforce and scale up screening the population against malaria.
He added out of the total population visited the camp, they have realized malaria prevalence in the district is still very high.
