Uganda Students asked to consider Pakistan a study destination

The Pakistan high Commision in Uganda is courting Uganda students to study in top universities in Pakistan.
This was disclosed by Agha Aslam, the media coordinator for the Pakistan Association in Uganda in an interview with Luo Natives senior reporter and managing Editor Frank Oyugi.
According to Aslam,the Pakistan high commission in Uganda will next month host a symposium in Uganda's capital Kampala to expose Uganda students and heads of institutions to the study opportunities that exist in some of the leading and prestigious universities in Pakistan. This he says will be led by the Pakistani high commissioner to Uganda H.E ambassador Muhammad Hassan Wazir.
Aslam says Pakistan has one of the competitive and affordable education systems in the world and said he would be excited to have students hailing from Lango sub-region travel to Pakistan not only to gain knowledge but also learn from the rich and amazing culture of the people of Pakistan.
"We want them to know that they can go there and study courses such as Information and communications Technology ( IT), commerce and Medicine among others" Aslam told this publication.
Being a Muslim country,Aslam says the Uganda students will have a condusive learning atmosphere in Pakistan and wouldn't get exposed to dangerous substances like drugs and alcohol.
"We would also like them to get exposed to the culture of the Pakistani people and also their cusines because the Pakistani people are very hospitable people" Aslam disclosed.
Pakistan community in Uganda has in the recent past been involved in philanthropic activities such as drilling boreholes for the needy community, donations to Ngeta Babies home and food support for the elderly and vulnerable members of the society.
It should also be noted that many Pakistani investors have put up oil milling factories in Lira,the commercial city and hub of Lango region that employs hundreds of youth in the region with a trickle down effect on the farming community in villages.
