Kampala, Uganda: Sharon Muneza the daughter of RDC Obongi, Mr. Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka has narrated how she was inspired by her own Father to enroll for Journalism and Mass Communication.

Growing up as a child, the fresh graduate never taught she become a journalist, but she changed her mind after being inspired and motivated by her own Father who was practicising journalism before being appointed a RDC. 

Sharon Muneza a fresh graduate from Kampala University told this publication that she was inspired by her father RDC Hasaka to join journalism. 

She part of the over 4000 students were graduated upon their excellent performance at the University on Thursday, 25th April 2024 at Gaba Lake view main campus in a colorful ceremony presided over by the Chancellor Professor at Gaba Lake view main campus on Thursday.

She graduated with a degree in Journalism mass communication.

The vribant young Muneza in her remarks, thanked her father for allowing her to become a journalist like him and paying her tuition.

She pledged to use her skill to promote good journalism in the community and ensure the voiceless are given platform to share their views. 

She also appealed to government officials to always give information about government funded programs to media so that journalists give the information to Ugandans.

The proud Parent, Samuel Mpimbasa Hashaka, also RDC Obongi  commended her daughter for following his footsteps. 

He encouraged parents take full participation in promoting girl child education in their community.

Earlier on at the graduation ceremony ,the Chancellor Kampala university, Prof Mondo Kagonyera challenged the graduates to be professional and disciplined.

Prof Mondo thanked Kampala university for being one of the best universities in Africa.

About the KU

Kampala University was established by corporate professionals in February 1998. It opened its gates to pioneer students in October 1999. The University was first licensed by the Ministry of Education and Sports on 23rd November, 2000 to operate as an institution of higher learning. In 2003, KU held its 1st Graduation Ceremony with a total of 141 graduates.

The institution is fully recognized and accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).
