Inside Why Pader RDC Milton Odongo Wants MP Santa Okot to join NRM
As Uganda prepare to celebrate 62 independence anniversary, Pader RDC Milton Odongo has urged MP Satan Okot of Aruu and her team to consider joining the NRM party and participate in the upcoming 2026 elections under NRM.
While speaking to the community in Atanga Town Council two weeks ago, Commissioner Odongo commended MP Santa for her leadership but suggested that she could achieve even greater success when she is in NRM framework.
Odongo, a strong advocate for the NRM, emphasized that the party and the government, under the able leadership of President Museveni, are welcoming to all. "MP Santa, I urge you to join NRM so that you can gain the lobbying power necessary to advance your community," he stated.
He further added the current disunity among the opposition political parties in Uganda is a clear sign that NRM is still strong a party for everyone.
He also at the same called on people of Pader to remain supportive to NRM government and President Museveni.
During the launch of the Grow Projects, RDC Odongo, MP Santa, and the Woman MP for Pader encouraged eligible women to take advantage of these initiatives.
However, in a recent address to journalists in Pajule town council in Pader District, MP Santa confirmed that she had been approached by RDC Odongo to leave the opposition, a suggestion she firmly rejected. "I cannot join NRM because I am content in the opposition, and I am confident in winning the election under my party," she asserted.
As a member of the People Progressive Party, Santa stands as the sole MP from this party in Uganda. She expressed her intention to focus on grassroots mobilization to strengthen her party's presence.
