By Gloria Ageno, Lira, Ug: On Saturday 7th July 2024, more than 20,000 people gathered at Lira City town College playing ground to celebrate Qfm's 12yrs Anniversary in the colorful event dubbed “Lak Alid Promotion,” where several people from northern Uganda won prizes like vehicles, walking tractors, motorcycles, cash, T-shirts, and more. 

 Imat Robinah Akalo from Otorongole clan in Akalo sub-county, Kole District was the first lucky winer who took 1 million shillings. 

During a live on-air interview by Mayor Lira City East Division, George Okello Ayoo, Robinah commended Q FM 94.3 Radio station Director Ken Okello and the entire radio staff for their outstanding contribution to listeners. She shared that she spent only 50,000 shillings and won one million Uganda shillings in the “Lak Alid” radio draw game.

Willy Omodo Omodo, the speaker (“Won Tok”) of Lango Cultural Institution, expressed gratitudes to Mr. Ken Okello, the proprietor of Q FM, for the great development.

 He affirmed their readiness as a Cultural Institution to collaborate with innovative and developmental figures such as Mr. Ken Okello of Q FM Radio station.

Lawrence Emmy Egole, the Resident City Commissioner (RCC) of Lira City, thanked Director Ken Okello for creating employment opportunities thus addressing unemployment.

He also congratulated frequent radio callers for their diligence in alerting and providing tips on security matters during broadcasts.

 Eng. Dr. Moses Michael Odongo Okune, Wonyaci Elect, the chief guest at the event, made the vehicle presentation to Odongo Alfred of Aguli, Ayabi sub-county in Kwania District. He ensured a memorable event by publicly awarding the vehicle.

His Highness Eng. Dr. Moses Okune assured the over 20,000 Q FM fans gathered at Town College Playground that preparations were underway for his coronation as the new Won Nyaci of Lango Cultural Institution, scheduled for November 2nd, 2024, at Mayor’s Garden in Lira City. He highlighted the strong relationship between Lango Cultural Institution and Q FM Radio management under Director Ken Okello’s leadership.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ken Okello, the radio proprietor of Q FM, pledged to continue supporting listeners and fans with motivational prizes. He was accompanied by popular Q FM presenters, personalities, and news reporters including Acipa Doreen, Nancy Atim, Okumu Okello, Bua John Ocen, Olot Jk, Ali Mao, Ocaya, Hillary Opio, Bobson Opio, Mr. Ojok, and Frank Oyugi among others.
