Be counted, take this Census 2024 seriously - Dr Alwoc to residents of Dokolo

Former candidate in the recent Dokolo Woman MP by-election Dr. Rosemary Alwoc Ogwal who has been doing a lot of charity work for flood victims of Dokolo district has urged the locals of Dokolo and the entire country to cooperate with enumerators and be counted.
Speaking to the press Dr. Alwoc highlighted key reasons why it's important for every individual to be counted.
"You see, to have accurate projection for the workforce of all sectors, it's important to work against definite figures, other than guessing", Dr. Alwoc said.
She stated that for the government to plan for the country's healthcare system, education, tax base, infrastructure, budgetary distribution, security and many others, it has to have figures that are nearest to the exact number of her citizens.

"For more schools or hospitals to be built, it has to be influenced by the population of that particular area. So, let's all be counted", she added.
The 2024 census under the theme, 'It matters to be counted' will run from May 10 to 19, with May 9 as the census night, where Ubos staff will move door-to-door to capture data from residents of households. The President of Uganda, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, launched the NPHC 2024 activity on December 12th2023.
The last national census was conducted in August 2014. The exercise cost an estimated UGX:75 billion and created an estimated 150,000 temporary jobs.
Dr. Alwoc contested for Dokolo woman member of parliament in the March 21 by-election on the FDC ticket garnering over 8,000 votes although she lost to UPC's Sarah Aguti Nyankori. Despite staying in her home in Adok Sub-county in Dokolo and doing a lot of charity work community engagements, she has not declared intention to run in the 2026 general elections.
