KOLE, UGANDA: Ambrose Ogwal, the director of Wisdom High School in Kole, Uganda, has urged school administrators in Lango region to implement the installation of CCTV cameras on their premises to enhance student discipline. He emphasized that the presence of surveillance cameras would deter students from engaging in misconduct, ultimately leading to improved academic performance.
Ogwal, whose institution has consistently excelled in both academic achievement and discipline, noted that the installation of cameras has significantly contributed to maintaining order among students and staff since the school's inception. In addition to the installation of CCTV, he recommended that fellow directors and educators consider recruiting student monitors tasked with discreetly reporting instances of indiscipline.
His recommendations come in response to a rise in strike actions at secondary schools within the Lango subregion. Recently, the Uganda Police, North Kyoga branch, have been conducting community policing initiatives in schools to address these issues.
Wisdom High School, located in Kole District, was founded by a group of experienced educators who have taught and guided numerous Ugandans. Ogwal himself has a notable background, having taught at several prestigious schools across Uganda.
