Comboni College Lira Launches Innovation Center

Lira, Uganda: In a groundbreaking ceremony, Comboni College officially launched its Innovation Center, cementing its position as a pioneer in fostering creativity and entrepreneurship in the Lango sub-region.
The event, attended by esteemed guests including Bishop Sanctus Lino Wanok of Lira Diocese, marked a significant milestone in Uganda's education landscape.
Bishop Sanctus Lino Wanok praised the Ugandan government's efforts in revolutionizing education through its new curriculum.
"The introduction of this curriculum is a bold step towards empowering students to take ownership of their learning," he said. "It's heartening to see institutions like Comboni College embracing this vision."
The Comboni Student Innovation Center aims to unleash the creative potential of students, nurturing innovative thinking and problem-solving skills. Joshua Elem, a senior three student, expressed gratitude to the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) for imparting valuable knowledge. "We've learned to safeguard our skills and monetize them," he said.
Mike Okao, another senior three student, shared the college's ambitious goal: "We're not just innovating for ourselves, but for the development of the Lango sub-region and Uganda as a whole." The headteacher of Comboni College applauded URSB for promoting environmental conservation and choosing Comboni as the center of innovation.
Alex Anganya, Deputy Registrar of URSB, hailed the launch as a "nurturing point" for the people of Lango. "We're bridging the gap between local innovation and the global market," he said. Anganya assured continued support for Comboni College, providing financial and material resources to drive positive change.
The launch of the Comboni Innovation Center sends a powerful message: Uganda's future lies in the hands of its youth. By empowering students to innovate and create, Comboni College is shaping the next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs, and change-makers.
