Obongi Boat Operators Receives Life Jabckts From MP Dr.Didi George

Obongi, Uganda: Boat operators in Obongi district have resume operations after area MP Dr.Bokha Didi George donated several life jackets to them.

The MP Obongi constituency Hon Dr.Boka George Didi has donated 24 life jackets to boat operators on River Nile in Obongi district on Monday.

The donation follows the stopping of operations by boats without life jackets recently by the Obongi District security committee.

The Obongi district security committee gave the directive following increase in death of boats users due to boats capsizing.

As a result of directive, all boat users stopped operations because none of the boats had life jackets.

One of the boat users called Richard has commended the Obongi constituency MP for the donation stating that it will help them at all times.

The MP Obongi constituency HonDr.Boka George Didi while handing over the life jackets said the donation follows a request to him by the boat users .

The RDC Obongi Samuel mpimbaza Hashaka,the DISO Elyebu Denis and the district chairperson Obongi Abib Buga Khemis thanked the MP for the timely donation.

They advised the boat users to always use the life jackets to save lives.

They advised investors to come to Obongi and invest in jackets and other items used on the river and lake.

The boat users thanked Dr Bokha Didi Geoge for the donation and referred to the donation as a scratch on their backs promising to scratch his back in the 2026 parliamentary elections.

The area MP has promised to continue assisting the Wanahinci whenever called upon to do so.
