"For a man who has done so much and delivered for you in all aspects of development,he has brought you electricity, water and seed schools among others, why should anyone come to contest against him in 2026?" Mr.Magyezi who was given a Lango name "Okello" did not stop there! "I am now moving a motion that no oke should contest against Hon.Denis Hamson Obua in the next elections and he should be allowed to run as a sole candidate because of the great things he has done for the Constituency" he said to a mamoth gathering who keenly listened to his speech that was translated in the local Lango dialect by Alebtong district LCV chairman D.K Odongo.
It was at this point that Magyezi who is famous for his controversial stand that birthed the presidential age limit amendment demanded for a seconder of his motion.
He didn't look any far but to Isaac Okwir who contested against Obua and lost in the 2020 NRM primary elections.Okwir is now a civil servant working as the Town clerk of Alebtong Town council.
"With all due honour minister, let me acknowledge and accept that we give our brother Obua the opportunity to lead us through all these that we have seen ,he is still agood leader"Okwir seconded the motion which was quickly closed by David Kennedy Odongo.
Magyezi then assured the people that he would further inform the president of this motion as he went ahead to praise Hamson Obua as a strong leader,a developer and a unifier at a national level.
Ealier on, Magyezi had comimisoned Alebtong Town council market that was constructed at a cost of shilings 300m and later the Alanyi gravity water scheme that will serve 17 villages in Abako Subcounty and reaching out to 827 House holds.
The water scheme cost the government 1.2b shillings under the Local Economic GrowthSupport Project commonly known as LEGS.
