Aloi High School Faces Shortage of Sanitary Facilities
Lira, Uganda: Aloi High School, a government-supported primary institution, is currently struggling with a serious lack of sanitary facilities.
There’s a shortage of toilets for both boys and girls, and school officials report that the existing facilities have been damaged by strong winds, further affecting the learning.
In addition to the toilet issues, the school is also dealing with a lack of adequate classrooms. Most of the buildings were constructed during camps and are in urgent need of repairs.
Mr. Dom Charles, the headteacher, shared with us that he has already reached out to the district regarding the school's condition.
He mentioned that the absence of proper sanitary facilities makes it difficult for children to maintain hygiene, which disrupts school activities.
Headteacher Dom also called on well-wishers, NGOs, and the old studnets association to help support the school's development.
He noted that these challenges are also impacting negatively on student enrollment.
Despite these difficulties, the virbant headteacher reassured the community that they are still aiming for good results. "We have prepared 69 candidates, and we expect them to do well," he stated.
Aloi High school is one of the traditional schools in lango sub-region. The school has raised many successful leaders and have been regarded as the best school.
