Alebtong! ARDC Jimmy Okello Calls on Community to Protect Wetland

Alebtong, Uganda : Alebtong District Assistant Resident District Commissioner, Jimmy Okello, has called on the Alebtong community to actively engage in the fight against wetland misuse.

During a recent address to journalists, Okello emphasized the commitment of security forces to pursue those who violate wetland regulations. In a meeting with residents in Awei Sub-county, he strongly advised against encroachment on wetland areas. 

"We encourage you to become advocates for government initiatives and to report any cases  of wetland misuse to us," he stated. Additionally, he urged the youth to participate in local economic activities, such as farming, as a means to alleviate poverty in the region.

Currently, Office of Resident District Commissioner Alebtong is rallying community to support government programs. 

Recently in their struggle, the team recovered 2 Million Ugx that was stolen under PDM.
