NRM Vows to Defeat UPC IN Lango in 2026 Election

Lira_Uganda:AFTER UPC winning hotly contested recent Dokolo by-elections, leaders of the National Resistance Movement party have vowed they are not about to relent until all the votes are secured in 2026 election.

In an exclusive interview , Kioga North MP Hon James Olobo Dubai who also double as the NRM Chairman Amolatar District, said that the Ruling party is determined to register victory in all the constituencies in Lango Sub -region.
“The ruling party has historically enjoyed massive support in Lango Sub -region in the past election. We therefore aim at consolidating our support by explaining the existing government programs that are benefitting our people,” Hon. Dubai said, adding, “this same strategy has earned us success in some by-election .”

“In the coming election, we shall reach out to everyone to remind them of their opportunity to choose a right party (NRM) and a right leader Hon. Acon,” he added.
Felix Adupa Ongwech, the former Contestant for Kioga County Constituency, who is also now the Kioga County NRM constituency chairperson after the appointment of former Flag baeerar Hon Anthony Okello Tango as the commissioner electrol commission the party NRM secretariat has handed over the NRM flag to Adupa who was a second runner up in the last NRM primary election, Adupa also doubles as president Transformers Carders Association Uganda, TCAU said that in the past by -election opposition figures uses lies and propaganda to woo votes , but NRM party leaders have learnt their tactics and they are ready to battle with them in 2026 election to ensure that all the Lost seat are reclaim from them.
Hon. Emmanuel Dombo, the NRM’s director of communication and Public Relations downplayed the internal bickering among some sections of party leaders, stressing that the ruling party has withstood a test of time and therefore cannot be adversely affected by such.
“The National Resistance Movement is bigger than everybody. That is why it has prevailed over any form of contradictions among some leaders and has not dissuaded us from the core objective of winning elections,” Dombo revealed.
He added, “our supporters are firm and cannot be diverted by interests of individual leaders.”
Mr.Dombo called on leaders and electorates within the upcoming 2026general elections to jointly mobilize support for NRM candidates in order to sweep all the polls.
Richard Todwong, the Secretary General for N.R.M party expressed confidence that N.R.M come 2026 election would reclaim all their lost seat and secure all positions across the country right from Mps position and district chairpersons.
