Lira City West Electorates Want MP Obong Eyit Unopposed in 2026

A group of voters in the Lira City West Division has begun advocating for MP Obong Eyit to be a sole parliamentary candidate for the 2026 elections, citing his significant contributions to road and educational development.

Since last year, MP Obong has been actively engaged in community development, a level of involvement that voters claim they have not previously experienced.

In response to community concerns regarding poor road conditions, Obong has brought road equipment for various wards and cells within the city to tackle these issues.

During a visit to the roadwork at Kakoge, Ocan Milton Road, Area Local Council One Chairperson Mr. Reggan Ongom expressed that majority of his community has decided to reward MP Obong with their votes in 2026.

He noted that his community has faced accidents due to the deteriorating roads and called on other leaders in Lira City to collaborate with MP Obong in furthering the city's development.

Mike Ogwal, a council member from Kakoge Ward, expressed gratitude to MP Obong Eyit for his prompt response to the public's concerns about the roads. Susan Akello, a road user, praised MP Obong Eyit for his commitment to community development, sharing that her family in Anai Ward had suffered due to electing ineffective representatives in the past. Additionally, Nancy Awio, filled with joy, pledged her ongoing support for MP Obong, urging other politicians competing against him to withdraw from the race, asserting that he remains a capable candidate.
