Lira City ! Brother Konrad Vocational &Tech School Helping Students to Achieve their Engineering Dreams
LIRA, UGANDA!Brother Konrad Vocational and Technical School in Lira City is dedicated to helping students in Uganda realize their aspirations of becoming engineers by providing quality educational services.
Historically, students from northern Uganda hesitated to pursue engineering due to the high costs associated with education and the numerous requirements to attain a diploma. However, the establishment of Brother Konrad Vocational and Technical School has changed this narrative. The institution is currently supplying Uganda Technical College with students for various courses, as those who pass through them consistently excel in examinations.
In an interview, Mr. Johnson Otim, the principal of the school, confirmed that a a large number of their students who have obtained national certificates have been accepted into various institutions for higher lever of studies and are becoming successful engineers in the country.
Brother Konrad Vocational and Technical School, a prominent technical institution in the Lango sub-region, not only provides education but also empowers youth to become self-sufficient. Many of their alumni are not unemployed; instead, they return home to establish their own workshops.
Established over a decade ago, the school has made significant contributions to the post-war recovery in Northern Uganda by offering both spiritual guidance and technical skills, enabling students to earn a sustainable living and create job opportunities for the younger generation. Founded by the Lira Catholic Diocese, this esteemed learning center is recognized for its fully equipped workshop that meets modern standards.
In a media address, Mr. Johnson Otim stated that the school offers education at an affordable cost, taking into account the financial circumstances of families in northern Uganda. He noted that the institution has consistently ranked among the top performers in UBTEB examinations. This publication has learned that the school is also preparing candidates for UBTEB, conducting their first and final year exams in 2024.
The school offers all technical courses, wood work, Fashion and Design, National Certifiactes in building construction, among others.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL
Brother Korndra vocational and technical school was started during the war in northen Uganda led LRA leader Joseph, the school offers national certifiactes and UBTEB certifiactes for studnets under taking various courses, their techinical and wood work workshop are the best in the region.
The school has a team of dedicated employees who are experienced in technical education.
Their employee are God fearing team that only teach studnets with acedmic but also provide guidance and counseling to them to prepare for the future.
