DETAILS: Why NRM Big Shot Bernard Ogwal is plotting to Unseat Erute North Incumbent MP

Lira, Uganda: The political Space in Erute North Consistency, Lira District is taking a new direction as fresh NRM blood, an ICT expert Mr.Benard Ogwal also famously known as Atin Acan declared his interest to unseat the incumbent MP.

This publication has intensively learnt that, the hopeful leader has started his wide consultation as he moblises for his Party and himself a head of 2026 general election.

Last week,a Section of NRM leaders in Erute North county reportedly met with him to discuss possible ways of securing both party flag and parliamentary seat position in the forthcoming election.

Commenting about his consultation, Ogwal explained that his home people have greatly welcomed his move to contest in 2026 general election. 

Ogwal who was born and raised from a humble family said his political entry is to improve on the wellbeing of the struggling communities of Erute North. He alleged that for many years, his constituency has been lagging behind due to poor representation at the national level. 

Ogwal will be battling with four other politician like Issac Ojok, the son to the former Charles Angiro(RIP), former District councilor for Agweng subcounty and the incumbent among others. 

Unveailing his agenda, the ICT specialist turned political main focus is aimed at improving standard of Education including Health Sector through paternship

 and lobbying with government and different key Stakeholders in development.

Ogwal told this publication that he will also actively support farmers group with new grants. 

"We need to support our farmers with modern farming equipment inorder to boost production and improve on their income." 

About the aspirant 

Mr. Ogwal Benard-Atin Acan is an IT Practitioner with the Oil and Gas setting in Uganda.

 He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in IT (Bsc-IT), M.Sc Data Science and a specialist in Data Modelling. 

He served in various offices in Uganda including a top position as manager. 

Being an IT engineer, Ogwal has inspired many young students from poor family background to succeed in education in the field of engineering.

He is also being viewed as a down to earth person.
